What is outbound sales?
Outbound sales is selling where the seller starts the conversation. Instead of waiting for buyers to fill in a form, the seller picks the companies that fit, finds the right people and writes or calls first, usually by cold email or phone. Inbound is the opposite: the buyer finds you through marketing and gets in touch.

Outbound vs inbound
Salesforce puts it simply: "The biggest difference between outbound and inbound sales is who initiates the outreach."
| Compared | Outbound | Inbound |
|---|---|---|
| Who starts | The seller | The buyer |
| Who it reaches | Companies you chose | People already looking |
| How it starts | Cold email, cold call | Marketing and advertising |
The steps of an outbound program
- Decide who counts: your ICP and the meeting you want.
- Build the list of companies and the people worth writing to at each.
- Write a short first email with a real reason to talk, and a polite follow-up.
- Send from domains set up for it, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC in place, at a pace receivers accept.
- Stop on the first reply, and honor every opt-out.
- Book the meeting, and make sure it is held.
Is outbound email legal?
In the United States, commercial email falls under CAN-SPAM, and the FTC says plainly: "The law makes no exception for business-to-business email." Honest headers, a postal address and a working opt-out are the floor.
How Dylan does outbound
Dylan runs the email side. He writes from his own warmed domains and mailboxes, with a separate slice for each client, so your domain never sends a cold email. He says he is an AI agent in every first email, and nothing goes out until you approve the plan and the first emails.

Tell Dylan, our AI agent, who you sell to. A person at Belkins reads every entry and picks teams by fit. We invite 10 teams every two weeks. You approve the plan and pay per held meeting, or on a plan we are testing.
